09/12/2025, 14:15The Ministry of Health signed a contract with the construction company China Road for the construction of a perinatal centre on the territory of the Osh Interregional United Clinical Hospital. The preliminary construction period is approximately 2.5 years.
Manas Toktomuratov, First Deputy Minister of Health, noted that the contractor is expected to strictly comply with all technical requirements and quality standards.
«The work must be carried out at the proper level, and the facility must be commissioned within the specified time frame. The Ministry will exercise constant control over the progress of construction», — he said.
The centre will have 150 beds, including 60 postnatal beds, 38 beds in the pregnancy pathology department, 7 adult intensive care beds, 5 recovery beds, 28 neonatal intensive care beds and 16 beds for mothers and babies to stay together. There will also be a maternity ward with 12 beds. The construction of the perinatal centre is expected to significantly improve the quality of obstetric, gynaecological and neonatal care, relieve the burden on existing facilities and strengthen the regional referral system.
The project involves the construction and equipping of a perinatal centre on the territory of the Osh Interregional United Clinical Hospital. It is based on a financial cooperation agreement between the governments of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany.
