08/10/2026, 14:24Construction of a new perinatal centre is underway in the Osh Region on the site of the Osh Inter-Regional United Clinical Hospital. The €13.5 million project is being funded by the German development bank KfW under a grant agreement.
To date, construction of the facility is 10 per cent complete. Construction and fitting-out work is proceeding in accordance with the approved schedule, with between 30 and 70 specialists working on site every day.
Construction is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2028.
The new perinatal centre will have a capacity of 249 beds. Once operational, it will improve access to specialist medical care for pregnant women, women in labour and newborns in the southern region.
The facility will also be equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, funded by a grant.
First Deputy Minister of Health Tilek Mamadaliev emphasised that the project is of strategic importance to the country’s healthcare system and instructed that the construction schedule be adhered to.
