07/08/2026, 11:49The spring wildlife census has been completed in the Osh Region. Experts recorded more than 8,000 marmots and 20 muskrats, with no signs of infectious diseases detected. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The Osh Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Natural Resources carried out the spring census of marmots and muskrats. Field observations were conducted along approved routes.
Following the census, experts recorded over 8,000 marmots and 20 muskrats. An assessment of the animals’ habitat was also carried out.
According to the ministry, no signs of infectious diseases were detected among wild animals during the survey.
Users of hunting grounds, as well as staff from specially protected natural areas, state nature reserves and nature parks, also took part in the census work.
