Investigators from two districts detained in Osh region on suspicion of extortion

Investigators from the Kara-Suu and Aravan districts have been detained in the Osh region on suspicion of extortion.

During operational search measures to identify, prevent and suppress corruption-related crimes in the law enforcement system of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic established the fact of extortion of $3,000 by investigator O.G.O. of the Nariman village police department in the Kara-Sui district of the Osh region.

It was established that O.G.O., taking advantage of his official position, extorted money from K.u.O. for material gain. The investigator had preliminary investigation materials on K.u.O., registered on the basis of fraud in December 2024.

The intermediary between O.G.O. and K.u.O. was the investigator of the Internal Affairs Department of the Aravan District of the Osh Region, police captain S.N.S.

As a result of investigative and operational measures carried out jointly with the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, O.G.O. and S.N.S. were caught red-handed receiving $1,600 and placed in the detention centre of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.
