Water supply facilities to be restored in villages of Leylek district

First Deputy Torag of the Zhiguli District Chingiz Azhibayev met today, 26 January, with Deputy Director of the Water Resources Service Abdybay Zhayloobayev.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of the country's water resources, prospects for the development of the irrigation sector, and the implementation of short-term and long-term projects.

First Deputy Torag Chyngyz Azhibayev touched upon the main problems in the field of water supply to the regions, in particular the development of irrigation networks. He drew attention to the need to restore water supply facilities in the villages of Baul and Kok-Tash in the Leylek district to meet the water needs of farmers.

In addition, the deputy raised the issue of the importance of studying groundwater levels, accounting for wells and preparing forecast data taking into account climate change.

In turn, Abdybai Zhayloobaev reported that an inventory of wells is currently being carried out, based on the results of which a corresponding database will be created. He also added that the Institute of Water Problems and Hydropower of the National Academy of Sciences has been tasked with studying water basins throughout the republic and preparing a scientifically based forecast for the next 50 years.
