04/15/2026, 17:11On the instructions of President Sadyr Zhaparov, the Ministry of Construction is overseeing the construction of the ‘Balastan’ leisure centre in the city of Talas. Construction work is currently 45% complete.
The project is being funded from the state budget, with construction work having commenced in November 2025. It was previously reported that this will be a unique amusement park — similar to Disneyland or Universal Studios in Japan.
The complex, covering a total area of 6.5 hectares, will consist of nine buildings and will become the city’s cultural and economic hub.
According to the master plan, the Balastan centre will feature attractions, special play areas for children with disabilities, a modern cinema, a conference hall and catering facilities.
Construction is being supervised by the state-owned enterprise Kyrgyzkurulush, with completion scheduled by the end of the year.
