10/07/2026, 12:34A survey of coal prices was carried out in Tokmok, revealing that a tonne of coal is sold for between 6,200 and 6,500 KGS. However, no panic buying or queues among the public were reported.
The inspection was carried out by staff from the Chui Regional Department of the Antimonopoly Regulation Service under the Ministry of Economy.
Retail outlets are selling coal from the Kara-Keche, Min-Kush and Shabyrkul deposits. According to sellers, there are sufficient fuel stocks for the current heating season.
The Antimonopoly Service will continue to monitor coal prices, availability and accessibility in order to identify any potentially unjustified price increases and protect consumers’ interests.
