04/15/2026, 13:40In the Toktogul district, the newly established ‘Kadix Sher’ cooperative is importing and planting 15,000 Albion strawberry seedlings from California.
The cooperative comprises 11 local residents and is headed by Kanatbek Shermambetov.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry has allocated 4.5 hectares of land to the cooperative from the agricultural land redistribution fund. The cooperative has built a reservoir with a capacity of 3,000 cubic metres and installed a drip irrigation system.
Once the strawberries start bearing fruit, additional seasonal jobs will be created for local residents.
