A new method of planting tomatoes has been used in the Zhayyl district

Farmers in the Zhayyl district of the Chui region planted tomato seedlings of the varieties «Hines», «Talent», «Blend», and others using a combine harvester this year and are now preparing for harvest. This is the first time tomatoes have been planted using this method in the region.

The total area planted was 260 hectares. According to the district agricultural development department, planting with a combine harvester reduces production costs. This is because no additional labour is required, time is saved, and it also has a positive effect on yield and increases volumes.

In total, planting tomato seedlings on 260 hectares took about three weeks. First, the seedlings were grown in a greenhouse until the required time, and then planted in the field. Previously, such harvesters were used by farmers in the Panfilov district. Currently, there are four such harvesters in the Zhayyl district.
