Heinz and Esesem tomatoes were planted here on an area of 270 hectares, with a yield of 120 tons per hectare. Incidentally, the highest yields in the world are traditionally harvested in North America, reaching up to 90 tons per hectare.
Most of the harvest is sent for processing to produce ketchup and other sauces, as well as various other products. The rest is intended for export. Modern agricultural technologies were used in the cultivation of tomatoes, including an automated drip irrigation system.
In addition, the harvesting process is also automated — a special tomato harvester was brought in from Italy for this purpose.
