This was announced at the conference ‘Social and Economic Development of Regions in Kyrgyzstan: Planning, Data and Accountability’ by the head of the state administration – the akim of the Jeti-Oguz district, Ermek Bakhavadinov.
According to him, the district’s development was facilitated by cooperation with investors and the study of successful practices both within Kyrgyzstan’s regions and abroad. As part of the business and investment forums held, 16 tripartite memoranda were signed between local authorities, the aiyl okmotu and entrepreneurs. The documents set out specific obligations for the parties regarding the implementation of projects.
However, outstanding issues remain, including the allocation and conversion of land plots, as well as the insufficient volume of preferential lending. As the akim noted, demand for preferential loans exceeds the available funding.
At the same time, Bahavadinov emphasised that many of the projects already implemented are capable of developing independently through private investment and state preferential financing programmes.
