According to preliminary estimates, Kyrgyzstan’s gross domestic product for the first five months of this year reached 781.1 billion KGS. Industry was one of the main drivers of growth, with production totalling 374.4 billion KGS.
The greatest growth was recorded in the production of chemical products, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, petroleum products and vehicles. Positive trends were also observed in construction, where the volume of work increased 1.6-fold, trade – by 10.4%, and agriculture – by 3.7%.
Meanwhile, consumer prices have risen by 4.8% since the start of the year. The price increases have affected services for the public, as well as alcohol and tobacco products, the most. The highest price growth was recorded in the Osh region – at 10.3%.
Despite economic growth, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign and bilateral trade volume fell by 3.6% in January–April, amounting to $4.76 billion. Trade with EAEU countries decreased by 1.8%, with exports falling by 11.7% and imports rising by 1%.
By the end of 2025, Kyrgyzstan’s economy had also demonstrated high growth rates thanks to industry, construction and domestic demand. The authorities expect to maintain this positive momentum in 2026 as well.
