Visa is offering merchants a new sales channel by integrating product catalogs into AI platforms

Visa Inc. has introduced Intelligent Commerce Connect—a solution that makes it easier for businesses to connect to AI-powered commerce. The technology serves as a network, protocol, and universal “gateway” to agent-based commerce—regardless of the token vaults used—for developers of agent-based solutions, merchants, and technology partners.

As consumers increasingly trust AI agents to make purchases, businesses—whether they are developers of such agents, merchants, or payment infrastructure providers—need a simple and straightforward way to get started in this space. Intelligent Commerce Connect, as part of the Visa Intelligent Commerce ecosystem, addresses this need.

Through a single integration via the Visa Acceptance Platform, the solution enables secure payment initiation, tokenization, spend control, and authentication. Intelligent Commerce Connect allows agents to pay using Visa cards and other payment systems, providing greater freedom of choice and simplifying the transition of the entire ecosystem to agent-based payments.

“From small businesses to the world’s largest retailers, Visa processes millions of payments worldwide every day,” noted Sanjar Suleimanov, Vice President and Regional Manager for Visa in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. “With the launch of Intelligent Commerce Connect, this reliable payment infrastructure becomes part of the rapidly evolving world of AI commerce, allowing companies to safely entrust AI agents with making purchases on behalf of customers.”

Key benefits of Intelligent Commerce Connect:

Compatibility with leading network token providers: AI agent platforms can leverage existing payment credential infrastructure and avoid vendor lock-in.

Seamless acceptance of agent-initiated payments: merchants can accept payments via major agent protocols, including the Trusted Agent Protocol, Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), and Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP).

Increased visibility of product catalogs on AI platforms: Merchants can make their catalogs and product details (descriptions, specifications, prices, etc.) available to AI platforms so that consumers can discover, select, and pay for products directly within the AI interface.

Support for operators processing merchant transactions: The Visa Acceptance Platform handles orchestration and PCI compliance for operators processing merchant transactions.

Single integration via the Visa Acceptance Platform: The solution is available through a single, trusted interface on the Visa Acceptance Platform—a modular set of payment tools that operate across millions of places where consumers make payments (online and mobile checkout scenarios, marketplaces).
