On 11 September 2025, during investigative and operational activities, a search was conducted at a warehouse located in Bishkek, where a particularly large quantity of medicines imported from European and CIS countries was discovered. It was established that the warehouse was operating without the necessary permits.
As a result of the measures, 10 pharmacies were sealed, where drugs from the specified warehouse were also found. It was established that the goods were distributed across regions, in particular to the city of Osh and the Osh region, settlements in the Issyk-Kul region, and the city of Jalal-Abad.
As a result of the searches, potent and psychotropic drugs were seized from pharmacies, which were sold without prescriptions and medical prescriptions, which is a gross violation of the law. In order to confirm the facts of the violations, test purchases were carried out, during which the facts of the sale of contraband drugs without the appropriate prescriptions were also established.
The organiser of the illegal import is a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, B.G.Zh., born in 1973, who was placed in the SIZO GKNB KR detention centre as part of the criminal case.
Measures are currently being taken to fully uncover and dismantle this illegal scheme, as well as to identify other persons involved in this activity.
In order to avoid negative consequences for the citizens of the country, the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic warns pharmaceutical companies of the need to strictly comply with the laws and regulations governing the import and distribution of medicines in the Kyrgyz Republic.
