The Ministry of Economy and Commerce on Presidential Decree for Vehicle Legalization

Kyrgyzstan has started to prepare rules for simplified legalisation of foreign-registered cars. A working group has been set up to develop new mechanisms. However, legalisation will be possible only after the adoption of a special law. The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to settle the process within two months.

Legalisation will take place in three stages. At the first stage, it will be possible to register cars with title documents. The second stage will cover cars without such documents, but in good condition. At the third stage, owners will be able to dispose of, sell for parts or take the car out of the country. They will also develop rules for initial registration, the amount of fees and the terms of their payment.

In addition, it is planned to tighten control over the entry and stay of foreign cars. All these measures are aimed at making the registration process simpler and more transparent for car owners.
