Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade declined in the first eight months of 2025

Exports amounted to $1.73 billion, down 23.7%, while imports amounted to $8.2 billion (5.2% less than in the same period last year).

According to foreign and mutual trade data, Bishkek continues to account for the largest volumes of exports and imports.
In January–August 2025, goods worth $1.08 billion were exported from the capital, while imports amounted to $5.47 billion.

The Jalal-Abad region ranks second in terms of export volume with $226.9 million, followed by the Chui region with $213.6 million.
Imports in these regions amounted to $144.5 million and $817.6 million, respectively.

The Naryn region saw a 2.3-fold increase in exports compared to last year, from $881,000 to $2 million.
At the same time, the Talas region recorded an 82.9% decline in exports, to $151.6 million.

The total volume of imports into the country for the first eight months of this year reached $8.12 billion, while exports amounted to $1.73 billion.

Bishkek, Chui and Jalal-Abad regions remain the leaders in foreign trade indicators for 2024.

According to data on foreign economic activity, Bishkek accounted for the largest volume of exports in 2024, with $3.38 billion, the bulk of which was precious metals and fuel.

Chui region ranked second with exports worth $892.7 million, mainly due to textile products and footwear.

In third place was Jalal-Abad region, whose exports reached $287.1 million, mainly ores and petroleum products.

The Talas region exported $183.9 million worth of goods, the Osh region $61.9 million, the Issyk-Kul region $47.6 million, the Batken region $53.9 million, and the Naryn region $2.2 million.

Imports across the country reached $12.48 billion, of which $7.94 billion fell on Bishkek, $1.1 billion on the Chui region, and $368.5 million on the Osh region.

The main import items were equipment, machinery, and mineral fuels.
