Over the course of the year, the economy saw an increase of 55 billion KGS in paper money

At the end of September, there were 290.2 billion KGS in circulation across the country — this is money that people keep in their wallets, cash registers and ATMs. These figures are provided by the National Bank.

Compared to last year, when there were 235.4 billion KGS in circulation, the amount of cash increased by almost 55 billion. This indicates that there is more cash in the economy — money held by the population and businesses. This can be explained by increased consumer activity, as well as growth in income and demand for cash.

In addition, the amount of money that banks and the state hold in accounts with the National Bank has also increased:

  • banks — from 118 to 183.5 billion KGS,
  • the Cabinet of Ministers — from 52.3 to 62.3 billion KGS.

In total, the National Bank's liabilities grew to almost 570 billion KGS, compared to 438.8 billion a year earlier.
