In one month, taxi drivers and couriers paid 20 million KGS more in taxes than in the whole of 2024

The State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan has recorded a significant increase in tax revenues from self-employed people working through digital platforms following the introduction of a new taxation mechanism. This is stated in the explanatory note to the draft law, which brings the current legislation into line with the new procedure.

Previously, taxi drivers and couriers, who are classified as self-employed, operated on the basis of patents. At the end of 2024, revenues from this category of taxpayers amounted to about 40 million KGS.

After the introduction of taxation through tax agents, revenues increased significantly: in September 2025 alone, income tax revenues from activities through digital platforms reached 60 million KGS. According to the tax service's forecasts, by the end of the year, revenues to the state budget could amount to about 800 million KGS.
