The mayor of Chui District has been detained for illegally issuing permits for the extraction of sand mixture

The State Committee for National Security reported the arrest of the acting akim of the Chui district of the Chui region on charges of abuse of office. The arrest was made on December 16 as part of a criminal investigation into the illegal issuance of permits for the extraction of sand and gravel mixture (SGM).

According to the investigation, the head of the district state administration, with the initials “T.R.T.,” in violation of the requirements of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic Decree No. 43 of February 5, 2019, which allows the issuance of licenses for the extraction of SGM in the riverbed on an area of no more than 10 acres, actually authorized the use of 20 hectares of land.

It has been established that the akim acted in collusion with certain business entities, as well as to lobby for the interests of a close relative, by ordering the issuance of permits in violation of the law.

Based on the results of investigative and operational measures, the detainee was placed in the temporary detention center of the State Committee for National Security in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
