Kyrgyzstan aims to nearly double its GDP per capita in five years

Adylbek Kasymaliyev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, took part in the National Forum on the country's development until 2030. The event discussed the draft Action Plan of the Cabinet of Ministers for the implementation of the National Development Program.

Kasymaliyev noted that the forum is focused not only on current tasks, but also on the country's prospects. He emphasized that since 2023, average economic growth rates have exceeded 9%, and at the end of the first nine months of 2025, GDP grew by 10%. Nominal GDP in 2024 exceeded 1.5 trillion soms, twice the 2021 figure, and consolidated budget resources are expected to reach 1 trillion soms by the end of 2025.

The National Development Program until 2030 sets ambitious goals:

  • GDP per capita up to $4,500;
  • Total GDP of at least $30 billion;
  • Average annual real GDP growth of 8%;
  • Entry into the top 30 countries in terms of achieving sustainable development goals;
  • A 10-point increase in the Human Development Index;
  • An unemployment rate of no more than 5%;
  • Investment in fixed capital of at least 20% of GDP;
  • Maintaining external public debt within 60% of GDP.

The draft of the new five-year plan includes 919 measures. The forum was held in two sessions: the first was devoted to economic, social, and digital development, and the second to partnerships with international organizations.

Following the forum, Kasymaliyev emphasized that all measures must be meaningful and aimed at the sustainable development of the state and improving the quality of life of citizens. He noted that the proposals made will form the basis of the Cabinet of Ministers' daily work on the implementation of the National Development Program until 2030.
