    Employees of the Aksu District Internal Affairs Department detained for extortion

    The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic received a statement from a resident of the Aksu district regarding extortion of a bribe by employees of the Aksu District Internal Affairs Department.

    In particular, the head of the Zhany-Zholsky Internal Affairs Department of the Aksu District Internal Affairs Department, police captain Y.

    R.B., senior district inspector, senior lieutenant of police T.A., and district inspector, senior lieutenant of police A.B.Y., illegally entered the applicant's home, where they seized an unregistered hunting rifle. After that, the aforementioned police officers, threatening criminal prosecution for illegal possession of firearms, received a bribe of 30,000 KGS from the owner of the house.

    The extortion of money did not stop, and the owner of the weapon turned to the State Committee for National Security. As a result of investigative and operational measures, the head of the POM and two district police officers were caught red-handed while receiving another bribe of 20,000 KGS from the applicant. During a search of the POM chief's residence, the previously seized firearm was found.

    Currently, the Aksu District Police Department officers are being held in the GKNB detention center, and an investigation is underway.
