03/13/2026, 10:59During investigative and operational measures to combat corruption in the judicial system, the State Committee for National Security detained lawyer “A.K.A.,” who previously held the position of military judge.
The investigation established that the suspect, using his status and personal connections, had set up a scheme to extort money for assistance in obtaining favorable court decisions in civil cases.
It was established that at the initial stage, A.K.A. had already received $25,000 from the victim. However, not content with the amount received, he continued to extort another $7,000, threatening to use his administrative resources to review the court decision in favor of his opponents if his demands were not met.
As a result of planned operational actions within the framework of the criminal case, the lawyer was caught red-handed while receiving part of the required amount in the amount of 437,500 KGS (equivalent to $5,000).
Based on the evidence gathered, the detainee was remanded in custody by court order for two months at the GKNB KR detention center. Investigative measures are currently ongoing to identify other individuals who may be involved in this corruption scheme.
