02/26/2026, 11:55The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has increased the volume of monetary gold in its asset structure. According to the financial statement as of December 31, 2025, the value of monetary gold reached 563.1 billion KGS, while a year earlier this figure was 278.3 billion KGS.
Thus, over the year, the volume of gold in the regulator's assets has actually more than doubled. Against the backdrop of the overall growth of the NBKR's assets to 890.3 billion KGS, the share of monetary gold has become a key component of the balance sheet.
In addition to monetary gold, the asset structure also includes non-monetary gold and gold reserves worth 103.4 billion KGS (compared to 74.5 billion KGS a year earlier). This further strengthens the “gold” component of the reserves.
The increase in the value of gold on the balance sheet may be associated with both an increase in physical reserves and a revaluation against the backdrop of global precious metal price dynamics.
