The Head of State inspected the construction of the infrastructure for the future mountain resort and took part in the launch of two cable cars — B-1 (1,727 metres) and B-2 (2,296 metres). He also laid the foundations for the stations of the next cable cars.
According to the project plans, construction of the two cable cars has already been completed, and there are plans to commission several more in the future, including up to six lifts by the time the resort’s first phase is launched.
Furthermore, the ‘Ala-Too Resort’ project envisages the construction of approximately 120 km of ski runs of varying difficulty levels, which will enable the resort to cater for tourists of all abilities and, in the future, to host international competitions.
Infrastructure development is proceeding in parallel: the construction of the Karakol–Zhyrgalan road (65 km), the Boz-Uchuk–Zhyrgalan road (14.5 km), as well as an alternative route (8.5 km). Water supply, electricity supply and engineering protection systems are also being constructed.
The opening of the resort’s first phase is scheduled for December 2026. By this time, it is planned to launch cable cars, ski runs, administrative buildings, equipment hire points and car park facilities.
Once the project is fully completed, the ‘Ala-Too Resort’ will be able to welcome up to 4 million tourists a year and create around 7,000 jobs.
