Kyrgyzstan’s livestock sector showed growth across all major product categories

In January–March 2026, Kyrgyzstan recorded an increase in the production of major livestock products compared to the same period last year.

Production of livestock and poultry for slaughter, measured in live weight, totaled 100.3 thousand metric tons, an increase of 2%. Raw milk production reached 298.9 thousand metric tons, which is 2.5% more than a year earlier.

The most significant growth was observed in egg production. Over the three-month period, egg production totaled 201.9 million eggs, an increase of 24.6% compared to January–March 2025.

March also saw an increase in production: livestock and poultry for slaughter rose by 3%, milk by 1.7%, and eggs by 17.8%.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the increase in production is attributed to growth in the livestock and poultry populations, as well as improved productivity.
