The Ministry of Finance plans to issue 550 million KGS worth of debt in promissory notes via the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange

On 10 September, the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange will hold an auction for the placement of 12-month government treasury bills. The announced issue volume will be 550 million KGS.

The forthcoming placement volume exceeds the supply at the previous auction of 12-month bills, held on 20 August, by 250 million KGS, or 83.3 per cent. On that occasion, investors were offered securities worth 300 million KGS.

However, demand and the actual volume of sales at the previous auction totalled only 62.03 million KGS — 20.7 per cent of the announced supply. The weighted average yield on successful bids stood at 11.15 per cent, with a minimum of 10.6 per cent and a maximum of 13.99 per cent.

According to data from the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange, as at 7 September, the total volume of 12-month government treasury bills in circulation stood at 1 billion 310.7 million KGS. Thus, the volume of the new issue is equivalent to approximately 42 per cent of the securities of this type currently in circulation.

The announced 550 million KGS represents the planned issue volume. The final placement amount will depend on investor demand and decisions regarding the applications received.
