The Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Dzhunushaliev, carried out an on-site inspection of road construction projects in the capital. The Mayor checked the progress of the reconstruction and major repairs to 12 sections of the road network, and assessed the pace and quality of the work.

During the tour, experts reported on the progress of repairs on Minzhylkiev, Muromskaya, Sanjyra, Ala-Archinskaya, Proektirovannaya, Zhayila Baatyra, Bezymyannaya, Semetey, 50 Let Pobedy, Mambet Imanaliev, Svobodnaya and Elebesov streets.

Major projects include the reconstruction of Muromskaya Street, which is approximately 3 kilometres long; the repair of Mambet Imanaliev Street, which is 5 kilometres long, including the installation of water supply networks; and the major repair of Elebesova, Semetei and 50 Years of Victory streets.

On a number of sections, plans include the laying of new road surfaces, the widening of the carriageway, the upgrading of utility networks and the carrying out of associated works. In particular, on Minzhylkiev Street, there are plans to construct a 1.35-kilometre stretch of road with a carriageway width of 8 metres.

Following the inspection, Aibek Dzhunushaliyev instructed the district administrations to step up monitoring of the progress of the works and to ensure that the projects are completed on schedule and in accordance with quality requirements.

Furthermore, in areas where construction is proceeding at a slow pace, the mayor instructed that the possibility of replacing contractors be considered. The relevant departments have also been instructed to expedite the resolution of issues relating to structures and utilities that are hindering the repair works.
