02/20/2026, 15:24In the Issyk-Kul region, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev familiarised himself with the implementation of major projects in the field of renewable energy, including the construction of solar power plants. The key project was Issyk-Kul-1, with investments of $1.4 billion.

In the village of Toru-Aigyr in the Issyk-Kul region, the head of the Cabinet visited the site of a solar power plant being built by Bishkek Solar. Construction work is 80% complete, and the implementation period has been reduced from 36 to 24 months. The planned annual output of the plant will be 600 million kWh, and the total investment by February 2027 will reach $280 million. The first phase with a capacity of 100 MW is scheduled to be launched in August 2026.
Kasymaliyev also familiarised himself with the large-scale Issyk-Kul-1 project being implemented by the Vietnamese company Rox Energy Global in the village of Kyzyl-Oruk. Construction of the station began in September 2025.
The project envisages a total capacity of 1,900 MW and an annual output of about 3.6 billion kWh of environmentally friendly electricity. Implementation will take place in stages: the first phase will be 150 MW, the second 450 MW, and the third 1,300 MW. Completion of the complex is scheduled for 2028.
Following the visit, the head of the Cabinet noted the high pace of project implementation and emphasised the state's readiness to provide comprehensive support to investors investing in energy, infrastructure and other key sectors of the economy.
