94% of Kyrgyzstan’s sweetened drinks come from Kazakhstan

In January 2026, Kyrgyzstan purchased over 1.3 million litres of mineral, sparkling and sweetened water, worth almost $667,000, with Kazakhstan being the main supplier.

Imports of carbonated drinks came from

  • Germany: 10 litres
  • Kazakhstan: 1.257 million litres
  • China: 1,440 litres,
  • Tajikistan: 19,700 litres,
  • Uzbekistan: 59,700 litres,
  • Republic of Korea: 192 litres,
  • United Arab Emirates: 2 litres,

Imports included mineral, carbonated and sweetened water. Kazakhstan became the main supplier, accounting for 94% of all sweetened mineral drinks.

Demand for sweetened and carbonated drinks in Kyrgyzstan continues to grow, which is why the share of imports is increasing.

In 2025, Kazakhstan remained the main supplier, but Germany and other countries are gradually increasing their share.
