Air Arabia may launch seasonal flights from Sharjah to Tamchy and Karakol

Air Arabia is considering the possibility of launching direct flights from Sharjah to Issyk-Kul and Karakol. This could significantly increase the flow of tourists from the Gulf states to Kyrgyzstan.

The prospects for developing new air routes were discussed at a meeting between Manasbek Samidinov, Chairman of the Board of ‘Airports of Kyrgyzstan’, and a delegation from the United Arab Emirates.

One of the key issues discussed was the launch of a direct flight on the Sharjah–Tamchy route during the 2026 summer tourist season. The parties are currently working out the details of the future flight schedule, including the start date and frequency of flights.

It is expected that the new route will increase the number of tourists from the UAE and other Gulf countries interested in holidaying at Issyk-Kul. Direct air links will make Kyrgyzstan’s natural attractions, mountain trails, national culture and opportunities for active tourism more accessible.

In addition, the parties are discussing the launch of flights on the Sharjah–Karakol route during the 2026–2027 winter season. It is anticipated that the new route will help promote Kyrgyz ski resorts on the international market and attract an additional influx of foreign tourists to the Issyk-Kul region during the winter season.

“Airports of Kyrgyzstan” notes that international airlines’ interest in the country continues to grow. The development of airport infrastructure, the modernisation of airports and the expansion of the route network are creating additional opportunities for the tourism industry and the strengthening of international ties.
