05/15/2026, 09:53As of early 2026, Armenia had the highest registered unemployment rate among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union—2.1% of the labor force. These figures were reported by the Eurasian Economic Commission.
However, Armenia’s lead in this indicator is temporary—as statistics for Kazakhstan for 2026 have not yet been published.
The latest available data for 2025 showed that the registered unemployment rate in Kazakhstan was significantly higher than Armenia’s. In different months, the rate in Kazakhstan ranged from 2.9% to 3.6%, while in Armenia during the same period, unemployment stood at around 2.5–2.8%.
Kyrgyzstan ranks second among the published data with a rate of 1.3%. At the same time, the republic continues to show a decline in the registered unemployment rate. For comparison, at the beginning of 2025, the rate was 1.7%, and in 2021—about 3%.
Belarus continues to have the lowest registered unemployment rate—0.1%. In Russia, the rate stands at 0.4%.
The statistics reflect the number of officially registered unemployed citizens registered with employment services. The actual unemployment rate may differ from these figures.
