On January 19, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development, Deputy Minister of Economy Sultan Akhmatov reported that cases of pork being found in products with halal certification had been recorded in Kyrgyzstan. He explained that this concerned the company Riha, which allegedly did not pass accreditation correctly, and its license was revoked.
The association explains that to date, Riha LLC has not received any official notifications (letters, orders, decisions) from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce or other authorized bodies regarding the revocation of any permits, identified violations, or restrictions on the company's activities. The production and sale of sausage products and meat products are not subject to licensing, and private manufacturing enterprises do not undergo state accreditation, but product certification procedures are applied.
The association also noted that “Halal” is a voluntary certification, and that Riha LLC currently has valid certificates issued by authorized organizations in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. According to the results of laboratory tests conducted at an accredited state institution, no pork DNA was found in Riha LLC's products, as confirmed by test reports.
The association emphasizes that the dissemination of unverified information without official and documented explanations damages not only one company but the entire processing industry.
