No need to visit the registry office: Kyrgyzstan has launched an online marriage registration service via ‘Tunduk’

Citizens of Kyrgyzstan can now apply to register their marriage via the ‘Tunduk’ mobile app. This new digital service allows them to complete the first stage of the process without having to visit a registry office.

To submit an application, one of the prospective spouses selects the ‘Marriage Registration’ service, enters the other party’s personal identification number (PIN) and verifies their identity using Face ID.

The other party then receives a notification, checks the details provided, confirms their consent and also verifies their identity via Face ID. Both applicants then sign the application with an electronic signature.

Once signed, the document is automatically sent to the civil registry office’s information system for processing. Citizens are notified of the outcome via the app.

There is no need to visit the registry office when submitting the application – the entire process can be initiated remotely via the mobile app.

The launch of this new service marks the latest stage in the digitalisation of public services and is aimed at simplifying the process of accessing public services for citizens.
