The capital accounted for around 46% of all borrowers from microcredit organisations. The Chui region was also among the leaders with a 12% share. The Osh region accounted for around 10% and the Jalal-Abad region for 9.5%.
In terms of the volume of funds disbursed, Bishkek also took first place — 31% of the total volume of microloans nationwide. This was followed by the Osh region with 15.5%, the Jalal-Abad region with 13%, and the Chui region with around 13%.
In total, between January and March, microcredit organisations in Kyrgyzstan issued over 23 billion KGS to the population.
The concentration of microcredit in Bishkek is explained by the high population density, the development of digital services and the more active use of online loans. In the regions, demand for microloans also continues to grow, particularly in agriculture and trade.
