Former head of the Tax Service pleads guilty. Over 4.3 billion KGS reimbursed to the state as part of the case

The former chairman of the State Tax Service has fully admitted his guilt in a case of abuse of office. This was reported by the State Committee for National Security, commenting on the guilty verdict of the Leninsky District Court against the former head of the State Tax Service and his deputy K.I.N.

As explained by the SCNS, both defendants were detained on December 6, 2024, as part of a criminal case under Article 337, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, “Abuse of official position.” The crimes were committed before the tightening of criminal liability for corruption and official crimes, so the court applied the previous version of the Criminal Code, which allowed for the imposition of a fine upon admission of guilt and conclusion of a procedural agreement.

During the investigation, A.A.K. and other defendants fully admitted their guilt, entered into procedural agreements, and compensated the state for material damage in the amount of 4 billion 307 million KGS.

According to the State Committee, the confessions obtained and the results of investigative and operational measures made it possible to uncover a persistent corruption scheme in the tax service system, in which employees of the Central Office of the State Tax Service and the management of the agency were involved.

The special service noted that dismantling the identified scheme had a direct impact on fiscal indicators. The tax authorities not only fulfilled the plan for the collection of taxes and insurance contributions for 2025, but also provided additional revenues in the amount of 40 billion KGS above the plan.
