The international exhibition Energy Expo Kyrgyzstan — SCO 2026, which took place on 18–19 June on the initiative of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, has come to a close in Bishkek.

The event took place as part of Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and was timed to coincide with the sixth meeting of energy ministers from SCO member states.

On the final day, the exhibition was visited by participants in the SCO Energy Ministers’ Meeting, as well as representatives of government bodies, international organisations and energy companies. The delegations familiarised themselves with the latest technologies, innovative solutions and investment projects on display.

According to the Ministry of Energy, representatives of the SCO member states held talks with exhibitors and discussed the prospects for implementing joint projects in the energy sector. Thus, the discussions begun during the ministerial meeting were given practical follow-up at the exhibition venue.

Over the course of two days, dozens of business meetings, presentations and negotiations took place at the exhibition. Participants addressed issues relating to the development of renewable energy sources, hydropower, the modernisation of energy infrastructure, equipment supplies and the implementation of investment projects.

More than 40 companies from Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, India, Belarus, Turkey and Vietnam took part in Energy Expo Kyrgyzstan – SCO 2026. They showcased state-of-the-art technologies and equipment for the energy sector, including solutions in the fields of solar energy, hydropower and the electrical engineering industry.

The Ministry of Energy noted that, following the exhibition, participants established new business contacts, discussed promising areas for cooperation and reached preliminary agreements on a number of joint initiatives.
