The Ministry of Natural Resources has fined the Kant City Council following a fire at the municipal landfill

The Ministry of Natural Resources has imposed a fine of 23,000 KGS on the Kant City Council following an investigation into the fire at the municipal landfill.

According to the ministry, on 18 June, a number of media outlets reported on a fire at the landfill in the city of Kant, Chui Region. It was noted that the fire posed a potential threat to residents and the environment.

Inspectors from the Chui Regional Directorate of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service carried out an investigation into the incident.

As a result, a report was drawn up against Kant City Council in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences. The municipality has been fined 23,000 KGS.
