To protect against such cases, it is recommended to activate a “self-ban” — a restriction on taking out loans in your name at banks and non-bank financial institutions. This will automatically block any loan applications if you do not plan to take out a loan yourself.
It is recommended that those who are absent from the country for a long time, do not intend to take out loans, or suspect a leak of personal data, for example, after losing their passport, activate “self-prohibition.”
The service can be activated free of charge and remotely via the state portal “Tündük” at any convenient time. Work is currently underway to establish data exchange between the participants in the process. The service is expected to be available in the coming months.
