07/21/2025, 09:44In 2025, more than 13,000 low-income families in Kyrgyzstan were given the chance to change their lives when they were offered a social contract and 150,000 KGS to start their own businesses. These funds can be used to develop smallholdings and purchase equipment and tools for self-employment. The state does not simply hand out money, but also provides support to participants by training them, advising them, and helping them build a sustainable income.
As of July 1, 1,286 contracts had been signed across the country, and families had already begun implementing their projects. Some have started poultry farming, others have opened sewing workshops or bought repair equipment — the main thing is that the money is working. This is part of a large-scale program to combat poverty and support self-employment.
In addition, program participants can obtain interest-free loans to expand their businesses. To date, 149 people have already taken advantage of this opportunity.
