Kyrgyzstan’s budget recorded a foreign exchange gain of 112.8 million KGS

According to figures for January–July 2026, the Kyrgyzstan budget recorded a foreign exchange gain of 112 million 847.4 KGS. These figures were provided by the Ministry of Finance.

In contrast, for the same period in 2025, the budget recorded an exchange rate loss of 123,282,600 KGS.

Consequently, the financial result improved by 236,130,000 KGS over the year and moved out of the red.

This was facilitated by the US dollar exchange rate remaining virtually unchanged, with only minor fluctuations, as exchange rate gains or losses arise when the value of foreign currency assets and liabilities changes due to exchange rate fluctuations. By January, the US dollar had strengthened against the KGS by just 0.007 per cent, from 87.4435 to 87.45 KGS.
