The number of foreign companies in Kyrgyzstan increased by 34.2% over the year.

The number of operating enterprises with foreign capital participation in Kyrgyzstan has increased sharply over the year. According to the Kyrgyz Republic Statistical Yearbook for 2025, in 2024 their number reached 5,724, compared to 4,264 a year earlier. Almost three-quarters of them are companies with full foreign capital participation, their number increased from 3,072 to 4,212.

The CIS countries made the main contribution to this growth. The number of enterprises with capital from the Commonwealth countries increased to 3,227 over the year. Russia remains the leader. The number of such companies increased by 734 at once and reached 2,121 enterprises, of which 1,601 are wholly foreign-owned. There was also a noticeable increase in the presence of businesses from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus.

Among countries outside the CIS, China showed the fastest growth. The number of Chinese enterprises in Kyrgyzstan increased from 654 to 931 over the year, and companies with full foreign capital increased from 492 to 706. Investors from Turkey, where the number of enterprises grew from 395 to 463, as well as from the UAE and South Korea, also became more active.

Statistics show a shift towards deeper involvement of foreign businesses. Companies are increasingly entering the market directly rather than through partnership schemes.
