A deputy proposed to build micro-districts in the area connecting Bishkek, Tokmok and Kara-Balta

Today at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Eldar Abakirov commented on the petition of citizens of Kyrgyzstan, which asks to regulate the cost of renting housing in Bishkek. The deputy noted that housing in the capital is too expensive.

He identified three main problems in the city: traffic jams, smog and the high cost of housing. Abakirov suggested the solution is to use the railway, which links Bishkek with Tokmok and Kara-Balta.

He suggested building large neighbourhoods in these areas, from where people could get to the capital in half an hour. This, in his opinion, would help solve three problems at once.

The MP suggested that the Cabinet of Ministers and the Mayor's Office look into this issue, while he suggested considering the possibility of implementing the project through the mechanism of public private partnership (PPP) or GIC.
