MP Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of preserving and developing the Botanical Garden in Bishkek, emphasizing that it is the “lungs” of the city and a specially protected area. Earlier, information appeared on social media that two soccer fields were being built on the territory of the garden.
In this regard, he noted that the construction of a soccer field on the territory of the Botanical Garden is unacceptable.
“Let's find another site for the soccer field”, — said Dastan Bekeshev.
He also noted that there are only two botanical gardens in Kyrgyzstan — in Bishkek (located on Gorky and Akhunbaev streets) and in Naryn.
Incidentally, in January 2025, the Enver Gareev Botanical Garden Research Institute was granted the status of a specially protected natural area.
