The building, located at 55A Logvinenko Street, Bishkek, was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic back in 1995 to accommodate diplomatic missions, but with the status of state property retained.
However, in 1999, the State Property Management Fund agreed to sell this building to a foreign organisation without diplomatic status, which violates Kyrgyz law.
After appealing to the court, the Pervomaisky District Court and the Bishkek City Court declared the sale contract invalid, and Kindergarten #93 returned to state ownership.
