The income of the population of Kyrgyzstan has almost doubled in five years due to salaries

The average monthly disposable cash income of households in Kyrgyzstan in 2020–2024 has almost doubled, according to data from the National Statistical Committee.

In 2020, per capita income was 5,625.4 KGS per month. By 2024, this figure had risen to 11,318.6 KGS.

Income from employment remains the main source of growth. Over five years, it increased from 3,793.8 KGS to 8,159.2 KGS per month. The share of earnings in the overall income structure grew from 67.4% to 72.1%, which was the maximum value for the period under review.

Social transfers also increased in absolute terms. In 2020, they amounted to 938.6 KGS, and in 2024, they amounted to 1,703.5 KGS per month. Their share in the income structure remained relatively stable at 15.1% compared to 16.7% five years ago.

Income from personal subsidiary farming is gradually losing ground. While in 2020 it accounted for 11.9% of all income, in 2024 it will already be 9%. In monetary terms, the indicator decreased from 1,054.2 KGS in 2023 to 1,013.1 KGS in 2024.

Other income in 2024 amounted to 442.9 KGS per month, or about 3.9% of total income.
