Liu Jiangping, China’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, has highlighted China’s growing role in the global economy and technological development

At a briefing following the two sessions in China, Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Liu Jiangping stated that China continues to strengthen its position as one of the key drivers of the global economy and a leader in technological development.

According to the diplomat, during the recent sessions of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the main objectives for the country’s economic and social development up to 2026 were defined, and the 15th Five-Year Plan was adopted, setting out guidelines for the next five years and up to 2035.

Liu Jiangping noted that the consistent implementation of five-year plans remains an important tool of state governance in China. She said that this model has enabled the country to achieve both rapid economic growth and long-term social stability.

The Ambassador emphasised that during the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan, China’s GDP grew to 140 trillion yuan, with average annual economic growth standing at 5.4%. At the same time, she estimated that the country’s contribution to global economic growth amounts to around 30%.

The diplomat paid particular attention to new industries. She stated that China holds a leading position in the production of electric vehicles, photovoltaic products and wind power generation, and is also making significant progress in the fields of artificial intelligence, microchips, biomedicine and robotics.

According to Liu Jiangping, external technological restrictions have not hindered the country’s development; on the contrary, they have accelerated China’s drive towards independent innovation.
