The dollar in Kyrgyzstan has been holding steady at 87.45 KGS for a week

The dollar exchange rate in Kyrgyzstan remained virtually unchanged between March 2 and 7, hovering around 87.45 KGS. According to the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, fluctuations amounted to only 0.0066 som over the week.

On March 2, the official exchange rate was 87.4500 KGS per dollar. On March 3, it fell slightly to 87.4452, rose to 87.4495 on March 4, returned to 87.4500 on March 5, and stood at 87.4434 KGS on March 6, before returning to its initial level of 87.4500 KGS on March 7.

In fact, the exchange rate remained within a narrow range around one mark throughout the week, which is one of the most stable periods in the currency market in recent times.

The regulator managed to maintain this level of stability through currency interventions. Akchabar previously wrote that, over the past few weeks, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has allocated more than $400 million to support the exchange rate, including the largest operation this year on February 26, when $162.55 million was sold on the interbank market.
