05/28/2025, 18:28In 2024, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic issued a number of new permits to commercial banks to conduct additional banking operations.
Among them, two banks were granted the right to conduct transactions based on Islamic principles through an “Islamic window” in national and foreign currencies under ‘ijara’ and “ijara muntahiya bitamlik” agreements.
One bank received a license to conduct operations with refined standard and measured bullion issued by OJSC Kyrgyzaltyn. Another bank received a license to conduct similar operations with bullion issued by the National Bank itself. Another bank was granted permission to conduct operations with measured and standard bullion from other issuers.
In addition, one commercial bank was granted the right to issue electronic money. All permits were issued within the regulatory authority of the National Bank.
