Kyrgyzstan’s economy is growing thanks to industry and trade

Kyrgyzstan’s economy grew by 12.4% in January–April 2026 compared with the previous year. This is according to data from the National Statistics Committee.

Gross domestic product stood at 602.8 billion KGS. This growth was driven primarily by industry, trade and services, which continue to expand rapidly.

Industrial production increased by 14.7%. Trade grew by 11.6%, whilst hotel and restaurant services grew by 13.4%. This indicates that there remains strong domestic demand and a flow of money within the real sector.

Freight and passenger transport are also growing. This suggests that businesses and the population have become more active in moving goods and people, and that the economy as a whole is operating at a faster pace than a year ago.
