07/29/2026, 13:11In January–June 2026, the role of sectors linked to the production of goods in Kyrgyzstan’s GDP structure strengthened, whilst the share of the services sector declined.
At the end of the first half of the year, the share of goods-producing sectors in nominal GDP stood at 33.9 per cent, an increase of 4.2 percentage points compared with the same period last year.
The greatest growth was seen in construction and manufacturing. Construction’s share of GDP rose to 8.5 per cent, an increase of 2.5 percentage points. Manufacturing accounted for 20.5 per cent of GDP — 2.2 percentage points more than a year earlier.
At the same time, the contribution from agriculture declined. The sector’s share fell by 0.5 percentage points to 4.9 per cent.
Against the backdrop of growth in the manufacturing sector, the share of services in the economy fell by 4.4 percentage points to 50.1 per cent.
This decline was mainly due to a reduction in the share of financial intermediation and insurance, as well as wholesale and retail trade and the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles.
At the same time, certain sectors within the services sector continued to strengthen their positions. For example, the share of professional, scientific and technical activities rose by 0.3 percentage points to reach 1.9 per cent of GDP.
Consequently, in the first half of 2026, the structure of Kyrgyzstan’s economy became more production-oriented: industry and construction increased their share, whilst the share of the service sector declined.
